Why "ScoreMore"?
Big business is the chief source of global warming pollution. Consumers are the most powerful catalysts for corporate action. In order for there to be any real impact fighting climate change, companies must take responsibility for their climate impact. And we need your help to jumpstart them on a path toward sustainability.
Climate Counts' "ScoreMore" Citizens Campaign gives you a chance to help us keep tracking the climate change actions of more and more companies, so we can keep making a difference.
How we know we're having an impact:
So far, Climate Counts has scored 140 companies in 16 sectors. Those 140 companies represent over 3000 of the world's most well-known brands.
Between 2008 and 2009, 90% of the companies we scored improved their scores by at least 22%. Many of those companies tell us they've heard loud and clear from consumers who've wanted them to improve their Climate Counts scores. As a result, those companies have taken steps to measure their climate footprint and initiate actions to reduce their climate impact.
But while we're finally beginning to see progress, the global climate crisis is far from over.
Help us keep tracking the world's companies.
As a consumer you have the power to change the world. When you buy from companies taking climate change seriously, you're sending a message that climate change matters to you. When you raise your voice, companies will listen.
Join the movement by giving as much as you can to keep demanding corporate responsibility on climate.
